Why Choose Us?
E.P.I.D.E.M.E.K is a non-profit organization dedicated to equality and restoring justice for those who are at a disadvantage. We work with the community to bridge the gap between ex-offenders, families, victims, and the community.
We believe that pain and healing are a shared phenomenon. Restorative justice is an approach to justice that focuses on the needs of the offenders and the involved community. Our goal is to revolutionize the way people in the community obtain justice in its most accurate form. We are not only holding the offender accountable but holding the justice system equally accountable.
We start by utilizing all the components of restorative justice. Where the offenders are being held accountable for their actions, this includes the admittance of the harm they caused others and making amends within the community. We believe in transformational change as opposed to behavior modification.
We work hand in hand with The National Civil Rights and Social Justice Speakers Training Bureau, Gladden Community House, and elementary schools and other outreach programs in the community, such as Healing Hearts, Power for Change ministries, and the Welcome Home Foundation.
Our goal is to implement ways to address all the needs of the renewed citizen to prevent a re-offense of another crime. Our staff intends to be a circle of support for the renewed citizen and the families, victims, and community affected by the crime.
