Do You Know Your Rights?
1st Amendment: “The people have the right to speak freely without government interference.”

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

“There is no sound, no voice, no cry, in all the world that can be heard unless someone is willing to listen” (EPIDEMEK) This quote was birthed from the death of a government’s lack of accountability to honor its own constitution.
This particular amendment is imperative because in the beginning of any injustice this right is the one that has to be utilized to bring awareness to your issue, whatever it maybe.

5th Amendment: “Nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty,or property, without due process of law, nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.”
What this amendment states this that when a crime is committed there is a specific process the courts must abide to. For instance: your miranda rights must be given by the arresting officer, Booking into the system, arraignment, preliminary hearing……..etc.Each step is vital to the due process.

The due process protects each citizen inside their own state government. Ohio Law states that first time offenders shall not receive over the mandatory min for their violations. For instance if you have a 1st degree felony you can only max 3 yrs for your first offence. If you have multiple convictions each conviction should be ran concurrent to each other.

6th Amendment: “In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and District wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witness against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witness in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence”

You have a right to a trial in 90 days if no continuance is requested. You have the right to face those who come against you. You also have the right to defend your person with character and professional witnesses. You have the right to free counsel appointed by the courts. You have the right to be judge by your peers in a non-bisis environment.

14th Amendment: “Nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny any person within its jurisdiction of the equal protection of the law.”

The 14th amendment is critical because it make each state adheres to the provisions to the laws that are already in place federally.
